Givaudan Invests CHF 55M in Campus 52 — A New Chapter for Grasse
Givaudan announces a major investment to build Campus 52 in Grasse, a centre of excellence dedicated to natural fragrance ingredients.
Givaudan doubles down on Grasse
On February 17, 2026, Givaudan announced a CHF 55 million investment to build Campus 52 in Grasse, France — a new centre of excellence entirely dedicated to its House of Naturals organisation.
The campus will bring together a production facility and an innovation laboratory, surrounded by gardens that connect field-to-fragrance operations. It is structured around four pillars: agronomy, innovation, operations, and perfumers.
"This investment aligns with Givaudan's 2030 strategy, driving sustainable growth through high value-added fragrance solutions." — Gilles Andrier, CEO
Why it matters
Grasse has been the world capital of perfumery for centuries. By choosing to anchor a major R&D and production hub there, Givaudan is reinforcing the region's role as a centre of gravity for natural ingredients — at a time when consumer demand for naturals continues to grow across fine fragrance, personal care, and flavour applications.
Campus 52 is also a signal of the broader industry trend: large fragrance houses are investing heavily in vertically integrated naturals capabilities, from sourcing and agronomy all the way through to the perfumer's palette.
Xavier Renard, Global Head of Fine Fragrance, noted:
"The campus will deliver exclusive natural ingredients, enriching perfumers' palettes for tomorrow's fragrances."
What to watch
For students and young professionals in the fragrance and flavour industry, developments like Campus 52 are worth paying attention to. They represent future job opportunities in R&D, production, agronomy, and creative roles — all concentrated in one of the most historic perfumery regions in the world.
